Ex Neighbours star Caitlin Stasey reveals new porn director career

Former Neighbours star Caitlin Stasey has revealed to her fans that she’s now working in porn.

The actress said she will be directing short pornographic films for the female-led site, Afterglow.

While chatting to Women’s Wear Daily, the 30-year-old said the films she directs will be a creative form of female empowerment, something she has been personally promoting for over a decade.

“It’s a queer-run and operated company. It’s a very cool group of women making some very good stuff,” she told the publication.

The actress was actually set to start filming a number of pornographic films in February, but thanks to COVID-19, it’s been a little difficult.

“We were all set to make several films in February, but things have gotten really, really dicey out [in LA],” she explained.

“Making a regular film during COVID-19 is tough – making a pornographic film during COVID-19? Virtually impossible.”

Afterglow was founded last year by Lilly Sparks, with its sole aim to market toward and empower women.

The company has been described as a “sex positive, pleasure-focused platform”.

Sparks started her business when she realised there was a huge lack of resources for women and pleasure.

As for Caitlin, she has for a long time spoken out in support about women’s sexuality and body positivity.

She was predominantly part of the #freethenipple campaign on Instagram, going to war with the platform as they continuously deleted her naked photos.

In November, she showed off her backside on Instagram as somebody drew a love heart on her bottom and her breasts.

However, the star hasn’t hung up her acting boots just yet.

Stasey has also been working on her new drama series Bridge and Tunnel for the Epix cable network, a project that is worlds away from porn.

Directed by Edward Burns, Bridge and Tunnel is a ‘dramedy’ set in 1980 in New York.

Australian’s first saw Caitlin Stasey rise to fame when she starred in Neighbours as Rachel Kinski from 2005-2009.

She later went on to star in Tomorrow When The War Began with fellow Aussie actor Lincoln Lewis in 2010.
